Centro M dico Nacional 20 de Noviembre (Mexico) National Medical Center, November 20 is a hospital in Mexico City, built by the ISSSTE. It was inaugurated by President Adolfo L pez Mateos in 1961. When it opened, the hospital had 600 beds, modern equipment, a nursery and a four-level parking. The building was designed by architects Enrique and Agust n Landa Verdugo, who adapted a black construction work, bought by the government to an individual, the needs of the new hospital. According to the architecture critic Miquel Adria, the hospital is one of the 25 most significant works of Mexican architecture in the twentieth century. On November 20 was conceived as a center of a public hospital network with six regional hospitals in the Mexico City, and forty-eight clinics in their delegations. The entire network was built in the sixties and most of its facilities continue in operation.In 1994 the hospital was remodeled and renamed Hospital 20 November by the National Medical Center November 20th. In 2005 he performed the first radiosurgery in epilepsy in Mexico in the hospital.
